One of Canada’s fastest-growing boutique M&A firms facilitates strategic deal, showcasing the growing opportunity for mid-market transactions across the country.

Kelowna B.C., Oct. 7, 2025 RWT Capital, a boutique M&A advisory firm with offices across Canada, today announced the successful closing of a strategic acquisition of Ecora, a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm by PRI Engineering, a leader in geotechnical and environmental engineering services.

The transaction, structured as a 100% asset purchase, creates one of Canada’s most comprehensive engineering services firms, offering clients an integrated platform across infrastructure, renewables, and the public sector.

“Congratulations to our clients, both the buyer and the seller, on successfully closing this transformative deal,” said Reece Tomlinson, CEO of RWT Capital. “It was a complex transaction that required thoughtful structuring, clear communication, and a shared commitment to long-term value. We are proud to have supported an outcome that reflects the strength of both organizations and their vision for the future.

The transaction aligns with signs of renewed vigor in Canada’s mid‑market M&A space. Mid‑market transactions under $25M continued to anchor private equity activity, accounting for 86 % of deals in H1 2025. As economic headwinds, including elevated interest rates and generational transitions, reshape the mid-market, strategic buyers are increasingly looking to well-positioned assets with experienced teams and strong client relationships.

“Working with RWT has been an exceptional experience,” said Kimberly Corea, CEO and CFO of Ecora. “They treated us as the unique client we are, providing focused support and standing with us through every challenge. Their commitment helped us reach the finish line, and we are truly proud to celebrate this partnership.”

RWT Capital expects to see continued momentum in business consolidations, succession planning, and cross-border transactions heading into 2026. With many baby boomer business owners preparing to exit, ownership transitions will be a significant driver of mid-market deal flow. Activity is likely to remain strong in infrastructure, industrials, and engineering, particularly where companies have resilient teams, stable revenue, and clear value creation potential.
