About the Role

We are seeking a highly driven Senior Associate to join our Investment Banking team located in Calgary, A.B. or Kelowna B.C. This individual will play a key role in executing M&A transactions, financial analysis, industry research, client presentations, and supporting deal origination initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and clients while contributing directly to transaction success and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Execution

  • Support and lead key workstreams on M&A, capital raises, and strategic advisory mandates
  • Build and review detailed financial models (DCF, LBO, comparables, accretion/dilution, precedent transactions)
  • Prepare CIMs, pitch materials, management presentations, and other client deliverables
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts across internal teams and external advisors
  • Assist in negotiating terms and transaction structures

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with clients to understand strategic objectives and provide advisory support
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, investors, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, investors, and partners

Research & Market Intelligence

  • Conduct in-depth sector research and monitor market trends across target industries
  • Support thought leadership initiatives and contribute to deal origination insights
  • Identify potential buyers, investors, or acquisition targets

Team & Project Leadership

  • Mentor analysts and help oversee deliverable quality
  • Manage deadlines and ensure the accuracy of client materials
  • Contribute to improving internal tools, processes, and best practices

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity, or corporate finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field (CFA, CPA, or MBA considered assets)
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver under tight timelines
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial research tools
